Firehouse Show and Shine

April 16-18 – Driving to Globe for the "Firehouse Show and Shine" – Contact Phil Muscat pmuscat@cableone.net  or go to http://www.cruisinarizona.com/events for complete information and an entry form.  This is the second year we will be going to Globe for this outstanding event.  Most of the cars entered will be street rods or classic cars.  The entry fee is $30 and includes dinner Friday night, as well as breakfast and lunch on Saturday.  We will be staying Friday and Saturday nights at the Best Western, Apache Gold Hotel Casino Resort.   Call 1-800-272-2438 x3600 for reservations.  We have a special group rate of $65 + tax per night if you mention the group code Prescott Corvette Club or PCC.

This is not only a fun car show but it is also a great ride through some beautiful scenery.  If you intend to go, it is important to register for the event before it fills up.

April 24 “PVS Annual Watson Lake Park Picnic” – We encourage everyone to come and enjoy the club’s annual picnic at Watson Lake Park on Sat., April 24th, from 10:00 a.m. to whenever. This will be our fourth year putting this event on, and it gets better every year. It is a great way to get to know members, as you can socialize freely, play games if you wish (horseshoes is always good for a few laughs), and eat some wonderful food. This year the club is paying for all the main items, which will be hot dogs, burgers, and homemade chili. PVS will also provide the plates, napkins, cups, and plastic ware. We are asking each member to bring a side dish, appetizer, or other needed items such as sliced tomatoes, onions, cheese for the chili and dogs, etc. To sign up for needed items: contact Pat Lynch - 928-445-8174 - PACL851@earthlink.net. This year we are adding a new wrinkle to the fun. We are having a Dutch Oven cook off for cobbler type dessert, and it will be cooked right there at the park. For info and assistance with this, call Donna Baade at 928-778-0175. She has several Dutch ovens that can be borrowed if you don’t have one or just need some help with how to make a cobbler dessert in one.

There are picnic tables and benches but it is suggested you bring a folding chair to sit on while socializing, nibbling, and quenching your thirst between games.  Please remember that no glass bottles are allowed in the park, so beer should be in cans and wine in a box!!

Anyone with a Classic Car is invited to bring it, as we did last year. These vehicles are beautiful and some of you have put a lot of work into them so – Show them off!!! Most importantly of all:  COME, ENJOY, AND GET TO KNOW CLUB MEMBERS IN A RELAXED ATMOSPHERE.
