The first corvette emblem

The corvette car...
was introduced to the American public in 1953 at the autorama held in New York city. Before the car was introduced, it had a different emblem on the front grill and steering wheel. General motors forced the design team to change the emblem before being presented at the show. The problem was the emblem consisted of the American flag crossed with the checkered flag. It was not considered correct to place a national flag on a product's logo. It's funny how the corvette was to take it's place in history for decades as America's dream car to own.

Here at Prescott Vette Sette Corvette Club...
We salute the Corvette as America's first true sports car. That's the spirit of our club. Being part of America's family of corvette owners, and continuing the dream. Please join us at one of our events and catch the wave!
